U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services: U.S. International Trade Deficit Decreases in April 2011


The Nation’s international trade deficit in goods and services decreased to $43.7 billion in April from $46.8 billion (revised) in April, as exports increased and imports decreased.

Exports increased to $175.6 billion in April from $173.4 billion in March. Imports decreased to $219.2 billion in April from $220.2 billion in March.

In this release and in the accompanying "U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services:  Annual Revision 2010", the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) are jointly publishing revised statistics on both U.S. trade in goods and services beginning with 1999.  Find the full release at the Census Bureau website.
